Launch Ceremony of ‘Plastic-free Campus’

The ‘Plastic-free Campus’ campaign was launched on 20 September 2018.  Its aim is to encourage CUHK students, staff and caterers to work together to go ‘plastic-free’ and build a sustainable green campus by stopping the use or distribution of plastic disposables.  Mr Eric Ng, Vice-President (Administration) and Chairman of the Committee on Campus Sustainability, presented the ‘Greenest O’ Camp Award 2018’ to the New Asia College Orientation Camp Organizing Committee.  The award winner shared with the audience New Asia O’Camp’s ingenious new green practices.  A representative of the student-initiated ‘Straw Box Project’ also described his success in persuading fellow students to say ‘no’ to plastic straws.
